Save the RU Men’s Home – Update
With exactly 28 days left to raise the needed $125,000 for the RU Men’s Home, I wanted to provide you with an update. Currently, we have $40,000 in pledges. Praise the Lord!
A $25,000 matching gift from a Christian business man was given to encourage our chapters to participate. This man will match up to $25,000 of the gifts received from local chapters and churches who use or have used the RU materials.
To date, there have been 10 directors who have responded in extraordinary measures. Some have promised $1000, others $500, and a few smaller, but equally important, gifts. I wanted to share one story to remind us all of the wonderful blessings of the work wherein we have been called.

Many of you know that over the last several years Cecilia and I have been very involved in ministering and working with the addicted through the Reformers Unanimous Ministry. I stand amazed as we watch men and women pass from the crack house, to the court house, to the jail house, and then to God’s house!
Some of the greatest tools we use are the Reformers Unanimous (RU) Men and Women’s Schools of Discipleship (ruhomes.org). These recovery homes are by far first class and doing amazing work in the lives of those addicted to drugs, alcohol, and other destructive forces. However, in these tough economic times the RU Men’s Discipleship Home has a very pressing monetary need and must raise $125,000 by mid-June or face possible closure. I have personally committed to raising $1,000 through what I am calling the “Run for Victory.” My goal is to run 100 miles between May 24 and June 13 (roughly 5 miles a day). That equates to $10 per mile.

On Friday night at 6 p.m. our local students and staff will meet to discuss the pledges and gifts that have been committed by you. Pastor Kingsbury will also give an update to our church on Sunday. If you have not met with your Pastor and considered some way to support this great need, please do so tonight, if possible.
I am confident that God will choose those who “hang out” with Him to help in ways that can only be explained as extraordinary generosity; because anyone who spends time with Him cannot miss this attribute of Him. Thank you Lord for your generosity toward all of us!

Pray for Spain – RU Conference
Wendy and I will be in Spain from May 27th through June 6th. We covet your prayers. Our labor will be concentrated in two cities: Madrid and Asturias. Our goal is to establish a distributor of the RU materials, a prototype of the program in a local church, and a representative for future growth.
Our hearts are full of joy as we see the ministry started by Steve Curington and Dr. Kingsbury over 16 years ago continue to flourish. I am confident that when I return from Spain we will have over 875 chapters, and we will soon see K0900 become a reality. Thank you Directors for your service to your Pastor and community. Together we can preach the good news of the glorious gospel to the world.
